Welcome to Country Service

A Welcome to Country is delivered by Traditional Owners, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples who have been given permission from the Traditional Owners to welcome visitors to their Country. It is a service that pays respect to the Noongar peoples ongoing connection to the land and serves as a reminder of the significance of Indigenous knowledge, history, and Culture in the present day.

Kerry-Ann Winmar Bio:

Kerry-Ann Winmar is a Whadjuk and Ballardong traditional Owner and Elder with strong family connections across the Perth Metropolitan and the Southwest of Western Australia. She has extensive knowledge to share about Nyungar language, heritage, and Culture which was handed down from her parents.

Kerry-Ann continues to be an inspirational leader for her community and a strong advocate for empowering women through her Yorgars-only workshops and tours. She believes that Cultural education, awareness training and engagement are key factors in preserving traditions.  

With goals to continue growing Nyungar Tours in Perth, Western Australia, Kerry-Ann plans to continue employing family members and encouraging people of all nationalities to engage with Indigenous Culture.
